The Freedive Academy Panglao is a Freedive Instructor Training, Mermaid Instructor & Swim Teacher Development Centre in beautiful Panglao, Philippines. We specialise in long-term development programs like freediving internships and our famous Zero to Hero programs.
We are located on the quiet and beautiful Northside of Panglao Island right-smack on the only access road the famous Napaling reef with its massive drop-off. We dive from shore without using a boat to depths from 50 to 130 meters, making the Napaling drop-off one of the – if not, the single best freediving location in Asia – and arguably in the world!
With 8 meters from shore, we have a drop off with immediate access to 130 meters depth. We always have fish around the lines, a permanent school of sardines and many many other fish – lot’s of big one’s too, including whale sharks, mantas and over the years quite a few whales including two times a blue whale whales and all with year-round near-perfect diving conditions!
Beautiful Panglao is a dream location. Panglao is an amazing green island with big roads covered by palm, banana and coconut trees, excellent restaurants, and plenty of things to do on your dry days. Travelling to Panglao is very easy since we have centred on the island our international airport, accessible from all major airport hubs in Asia.
We are a true professional freediving development centre with different internship programs, freedive instructor courses every month and Zero to Hero Freediving Programs starting any day of the year. Plus, we are the only centre in the world who train freediving instructors with the option also to become a swim teacher or mermaid instructor.
Last but not least the actual centre, the freedivers and the staff. The academy and classrooms are fully equipped with high-quality gear and materials, and on any given day, we have more than 20 people around the centre, and most of them are in Panglao long term. We truly are one big freediving family!

Can you make a nice package?
Yes, we can. This is what we do best. Most of the time, we package the courses with training, accommodation in one of our bamboo bungalows, motorbike rental and airport pickup.
Do you have accomodation?
Yes, we do. We have five beautiful bamboo bungalows and one convenient apartment, all centred around our 25-meter pool.
Can you help us with travel arrangements?
Yes of course. We have a small team of people ready to answer and assist you with any questions you may have.
